Jake Bryant professional Musician and Educator

Musician and Educator

I was fortunate to grow up in a musical family in Murwillumbah NSW. From an early age I had an interest in music firstly learning the flute followed by the saxophone. In Canberra I had some great music teachers who inspired me to further my education with a Bachelor of music Jazz saxophone followed by a Graduate Diploma in secondary music education .

Throughout my music career i have played with a number of great bands and musicians and today i continue to do so playing with 3 regular groups – Soul’d , The Hedonic Orchestra and Brother Norton .   I  also play freelance for many other bands.

Gigs can be found on my upcoming performance page.

I have always been passionate about education and begun teaching music when i was 19 whilst studying music. Whilst i have continued to teach music privately throughout my life i have also taught in the classroom in a number of schools across Australia and abroad both in Music and Design technology (another passion of mine) .

Currently i am teaching instrumental music (Brass and Woodwind) locally in Murwillumbah as well as primary school band programs where i have been situated for the past 14 years.

I look forward to continue to inspire and educate students both through my teaching but by showing students my love of playing through performing regularly with my bands

My other passions outside of music are website design , woodwork , fishing and kitesurfing.
